This workshop is perfect for confident beginners or anyone ready to take the leap into sewing with stretch and jersey fabrics. If you want to create your own stylish, comfy stretchwear, this one’s for you.
What will I study in this class?
You’ll learn how to sew stretchy fabrics using a domestic machine, with an optional overlocker demo to level up your finish. Choose to make a fitted bodysuit, a stretch top, or a simple dress.
We’ll cover:
- Understanding different stretch fabric types and how to handle them
- Cutting and prepping stretch patterns
- Using stretch and zig-zag stitches on a domestic machine
- Twin-needle hemming and seam techniques
- Using stretch thread for professional results
- Overlocking demo – how to finish like a pro

What do I need to bring to this class?
We provide everything you need, including fabric in a range of colours to choose from on the day. Just bring your sewing kit (if you have one) and your enthusiasm! You’re also welcome to bring your own sewing machine.
